Service Engineering

Play an essential role with maintenance and service

Technological progress and digitisation are leading to more and more machines and plants being used in industry. They are at the heart of production cycles and must function reliably. If they fail, losses in the millions can occur. To keep production running, companies rely on highly qualified engineers for service and maintenance. They are an essential component of the company and as service providers they generate high revenues and play a decisive role in customer loyalty.

Boring? No way!

The growing importance of industrial services is reflected in the growing demand for service engineers but also in the high demands placed on their qualifications. No problem for graduates of the DHBW Mannheim. They routinely accompany production plant systems from the design phase through the assembly phase and on into the maintenance phase. They are the first to learn to deal with new technologies and are therefore always up to date. Sometimes in a quiet room by themselves, sometimes in a team, often with customers – the daily work routine is full of variety.

The necessary knowledge mix for a diverse field

During their career-integrated mechatronics degree course, students acquire all the relevant technical, business and communication skills, leaving them ideally prepared for deployment within the company and with customers. This means that they fulfil the interdisciplinary requirement profile of technical know-how, cost awareness, modern management methods and key training and are ready to take on exciting tasks in service engineering.
